Enrollment in the ESU program allows you to receive critical security updates until October 13, 2026, providing an extra year of protection beyond the official end of support for Windows 10. To enroll in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10, follow these steps: Check System Requirements: Ensure your device meets the requirements for ESU enrollment, such as being running Windows 10 version 22H2 and having the necessary updates installed. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Enroll in ESU: If your device is eligible, you will see a link to enroll in ESU. Click on Enroll now. Choose Enrollment Method: You can choose to back up your settings, redeem Microsoft Rewards points, or pay a one-time fee of $30 to enroll. Confirmation: After enrollment, you will see a confirmation message indicating that your device is now enrolled in the ESU program. Enrollment in the ESU program allows you to receive critical security updates until October 13, 2026, providing an extra year of protection beyond the official end of support for Windows 10.

Enrollment Process:

  1. Check for Eligibility: Ensure your Windows 10 device is running the latest version (22H2) and that your Microsoft account is an administrator account. 
  2. Navigate to Windows Update: Open the Settings app and go to Update & Security > Windows Update. 
  3. Locate the Enrollment Link: If your device is eligible, you will see a link to enroll in the ESU program. 
  4. Choose an Option: Select the desired enrollment option:
    • Windows Backup Syncing: If you are already backing up your PC settings, you can enroll immediately. 
    • Microsoft Rewards: Redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points. 
    • One-time Purchase: Pay the $30 fee for one year of updates. 
  5. Complete Enrollment: Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the enrollment process.
