Blacklisting & Whitelisting

If you have email through rdcsshosting.com, you may have seen email come in with the following appended to the subject line:
***posible spam if not please white list***
This tutorial will explain how to accomplish that goal.

WHITELIST – a list of email addresses or domains that are always allowed to send you email
BLACKLIST – a list of email addresses or domains that are never allowed to send you email

To add an email address to one of these lists:

  • Open cPanel (http://yourdomain.com/cpanel) and log in.
  • Go to the Email section.
  • Click on Spam Filters.
  • Click Show Additional Configurations at the bottom of the list.
    • You will see three options:
      • Whitelist Settings
      • Blacklist Settings
      • Calculated Spam Score Settings
    • To add an email to either Whitelist or Blacklist ([White/Black]list), click to Edit Spam [White/Black]list Settings.
  • You can either enter a full email address (name@domain.com) to receive all email sent from that address, or a wildcard (*@domain.com) to receive all email send from that domain.
  • If there is no line available for adding an email, click the line +Add A New “White/Black]list from” item.
  • When you have all desired emails and domains entered, click Update.
  • You can then go back to cPanel or close the page.
